MANDREL DRILLING AND GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES (MANDREL DRILLING) is a privately owned company duly registered with the Department of Trade and Industry at National Capital Region (NCR) on October
29, 2001., The new business name MANDREL DRILLING permanently replaces the name of Mandrel
Construction & General Services Co., which is in existence since 1994, both owned
and managed by the same person. MANDREL DRILLING was primarily conceived to fully concentrate on the field of geological and
geotechnical investigation, hydrogeological, geo-environmental and geological consultancy of the power sector, telecommunication,
mining, water resources and environmental projects.
MANDREL DRILLING is under the management of Mr. Alfredo A. Atanacio, a retired Engineering Geologist
of National Power Corporation (NPC). His exposure on geological and geotechnical investigation and construction of various
transmission lines, substations, dams, hydro and thermal power plants, while in NPC,
for 17 years, gave him the technical competence to manage and undertake geological and geotechnical works of private
clients with highest quality and accuracy.
The company was primarily
established to service the power, telecommunication, construction and mining industry sectors. Our company is tapping the
expertise of local experts and consultants, whose specialization and disciplines encompass all functions, and former retired
NPC Geologist and Engineers who are competent and reliable professionals, well
experienced in their respective disciplined acquired through years of remarkable field experiences in transmission lines,
substations and power plants.
MANDREL DRILLING is now in the process of expanding its operation and capabilities in the field of
Geological and Geotechnical Investigation, Ground Improvement, Well Drilling, Geo-Environmental, Water Resources Development
and Geological Consultancy.
Major contracts, secured by Mr. Atanacio, were mostly soil investigation of transmission lines and substations of National
Power Corporation awarded to foreign corporations. Some of the projects are the following:
· Soil Investigation of 286 towersites
of Masinloc-Labrador 230KV Transmission Line Project awarded to Siemens, Inc. of Germany.
· Soil investigation of 149 towersites
of Ilijan Cut-In Point 500KV Transmission Line Project awarded to Sumitomo Electric
Industries,LTD of Japan.
Soil investigation, topographical survey and soil resistivity
of Dasmarinas and Tayabas 500 KV Substations located at Dasmarinas, Cavite and Tayabas, Quezon respectively, awarded to Schneider Electric
Industries, S.A. of France
